What is Normatec Compression?

Normatec compression systems use dynamic pneumatic compression in a sequential pattern—mimicking the body's natural muscular pump—to move metabolic waste, reduce edema, and restore circulation after intense activity or surgery.

How it works

Pressurized chambers in the leg sleeves inflate sequentially from distal to proximal—recreating the natural muscle pump. This accelerates venous return, lymphatic drainage, and reduces post-exercise inflammation and delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS).

Why clients use it

Clients incorporate Normatec Compression into their protocols for a range of goals and conditions — from acute recovery to long-term optimization.

Post-workout recovery

Leg swelling and lymphedema

Post-surgical circulation support

Heavy training legs and fatigue

Sedentary lifestyle circulation improvement

What to expect

Session Duration:20–30 min

Slip into the comfortable compression sleeves, select your pressure level, and relax. Sessions are completely passive—no effort required. Many clients combine with red light or PEMF.

Safety considerations

Avoid over active DVT sites, open wounds, or active skin infections in the compressed area.

Recovery Stacking — Sequencing Guide

Based on clinical evidence, here is how Normatec Compression pairs with other OutRecover modalities.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Before

Oxygen saturation, inflammation reduction

HBOT hyper-oxygenates tissues—Normatec follows to circulate oxygen-rich blood and clear waste.

PEMF Therapy

Before or During

Cellular priming, circulation

PEMF boosts ATP and blood flow—enhancing compression's drainage and metabolic effects.

Red Light Therapy

Before

Mitochondrial function, circulation

RLT energizes cells and improves blood flow—Normatec then flushes waste and reduces soreness.

Infrared Sauna

Before

Circulation, detoxification

Heat mobilizes waste and increases blood flow—compression clears it out efficiently.

Dry Cold Plunge

Before

Swelling reduction, vascular reset

Cold constricts vessels and reduces inflammation—Normatec follows to enhance circulation rebound.

BOA Max Lymphatic Compression

Not Same Day

Redundant compression, circulatory overload

Both use pneumatic compression—doing both in one day may overstress circulatory systems.

ARX Adaptive Resistance

warm-upBefore
recoveryAfter

Strength recovery, circulation

Pre-ARX improves muscle perfusion; post-ARX flushes waste and enhances recovery.

Molecular Hydrogen

During

Antioxidant protection, inflammation reduction

Hydrogen combats oxidative stress while compression boosts systemic distribution.

Vitamin D Light Therapy

Before or After

Immune health, mood

No circulatory interference—can be safely stacked around compression in either order.

Sequencing guidance is based on clinical evidence and practitioner experience. Always consult with your OutRecover team before beginning a protocol.
